Hello guys, I did femur lengthening pre-op 5’5 post op 5’7.5 and have come to regret it. I had a normal tibia to femur ratio and now it is screwed up. Keep in mind I didn’t even do the max lengthening. When squatting, sitting down, running and dancing I look extremely odd because of the tiny lower legs. I feel like I no longer have the freedom to wear shorts because of how low my knees sit. I’m cursed to be insecure enough to hide my proportions with longer shorts. People here like to downplay proportions but to me it’s obvious and come to warn that alot of you will potentially be unhappy about it. No one has called me out on it but it’s always on the back of my mind how much of a freak it appears to me.  Be more wise about your femur lengthening decision especially if you are on the higher end of body dysmorphia. In retrospect I advise to always do tibia lengthening first. I traded height dysmorphia for proportions dysmorphia.

Preop it was .78 and now it’s about .68 unfortunately. Had I opted for tibia lengthening I would be in the normal human range.

Only issue is wingspan would look out of proportion. I would have to shorten my femurs some while lengthening tibia. In my opinion a super long tibia looks better and is functionally superior then longer femurs so I urge others to start with tibias and not make my mistake.
