Quote from: Pan Island Expressway on July 17, 2025, 07:45:17 AMIs this scars from the original surgery or the complications surgerys? Is it still painful? It looks scary

On the left hip i got 2 scars, one long and one short.
From the first femur surgery i got the long one, which was 1 inch shorter at that time. And from the second surgery i got the short one, plus one inch more to the longer one.
I assume that you have read my whole diary, so you should know which with which.
He just cut me with no regrets...

Hey brother how is it going. Maybe you don’t remember me, but I told you during lengthening almost a year plus ago that your doctor is a scammer and will cripple you. This was during your lengthening process after viewing your x rays.
You did not listen to me at all then.

Also, all of the posts I did a year+ ago have been deleted by the moderators - Go figure. I was right all along I knew it.

I was also crippled by a Turkish doctor. Anyone reading this, please I beg you, not to go to any Turkish doctor if you value your legs.

Anyways, best of luck and hope you get better. If you need someone to fix your issues, Dr Assayag in the USA is the best doctor who can do it. Thanks

Hey, man... I remember you.

I dont need anybody to warn me for anything, because I know all the s**t about them.
If you would read my diary I said few times why I chose that surgeon.
And I never regreted to go there, because the turkish living conditions are the best.
In Turkey you live for 5 months in a 4 stars medical hotel with 7 days a week PE, free food buffet, kitchen in your room plus you washer and drier, every day nursing visit, every day bed sheet change and floor and bathroom cleaning, swimming pool, emergency button 24 hours, they give wheelchair, walker, and free transportation every 2 weeks with ambulance !... so regarding this there is NO COMPARE WITH ANY OTHER PLACE IN THE WORLD

I first went in Athens to Giotikas and I didnt like many things and then I messaged Kucukkaya, which never answered me.
So, Gokhan was the next good doctor after them.... but the problem with this doctor is that he doesnt have LL experience and I found that he inserted me used Precice nails !
Also he inserted wrong the screws in my left femur and he didnt secure the proximal screws in my tibias so they popped-out... AND FROM THERE MY NIGHTMARE CAME !!
With Gokhan is a lottery, sometimes is doing a good job, sometimes not !

I talked with Assayag and I liked him very much and I know he is in the first top 3 surgeons in the world... but he cost way too much. And this is not because of him, its because of the clinic where he is working and charge insanely !!

In Canada to Gdalevitch is a big problem because she kick you out of the hospital next day after surgery... and that is insane, because after such a tough surgery you need to stay in the hospital for 4-5 nights, very well supervised. Few guys died in the first 48 hours, because embolia, so you cannot send home a patient like this !!
Also she give you only 5 days a week PE and you have to rent a place for many months which cost a lot and you have to take care of yourself, to order food, cleaning, call taxi for xrays, etc... and I hate that !! !
But, I noticed she is so confident that it never happen any complications to her... so she always send out people after one day...Cyborg also confirmed that to me.

After all, I realized that I should go from the first time in South Africa, because even he is not the cheapest, but he is a great LL surgeon and also has good living conditions. But the distance is insane... you take minimum 2 planes and from Amsterdam the flight is 11 hours !!
So now I have few other good options to fix my deformities, but with many discutions and lots of waiting time schedules... already 5 months !

Hello there. What was the main reason you did not choose Giotikas? How was the environment of the place?

Hello...

I was in Athens, he is a very polite person and handsome tall guy. You can have him as a model for how you want to look like.
For me was easy to get there, because I took the plane in the morning, I arrived one hour later, I took 2 metro trains and I arrived to his clinic and in the evening I left Athens, on the same way back and at midnight I arrived home.
The clinic is clean and polite perople. He gave me a discount for all tests, like X-rays, Blood test and DEXA bone test.
I also paid 300 Euro for the consultation.

The problem is the living conditions !...
1. You must rent a place in Athens, in a certain area for nurses, so they can easily get to you. Could be a hotel, which is expensive, or a regular residential building, but you must be sure has wheelchair access. They dont have a medical centre where you can live for 3-4 months, you are just on your own.
2. One of his patient died of embolia, after 2 weeks, in his place and nobody could help him, because nobody was around
3. They dont send a PT guy to your bed. NO, they ask you to kill-yourself calling every day a regular taxi and to go on the street with your wheelchair, to struggle to move yourself from chair to the taxi bench and to ask the taxi driver to put your wheelchair in the trunk, no matter if is sun, wind, rain, etc !.... And this is a crime for people like us, who was very traumatized after surgery and we cannot move our body anywhere for many weeks, because the BIG pain !!... They not even offer you a specialized taxi for handicap, so you can stay confortable in your wheel chair on the trip, unless you pay for this expensive service.
4. Athens is a busy city and crowded, full of immigrants from middle East, very noisy because the restaurants and bars all night long, with drugged people on streets, with very hot weather in summer, etc... so it is far from what you need for your healing period !
5. If you rent a residential apartment, you must take care of your place cleaning, garbage, etc... or to pay somebody to do it.
6. You have to call and order your food, because nobody bring you food at bed, especially if you rent an apartment.
7. If you have an emergency, they cannot arrive quckly... so that is another stress and life threat.

So, I said pass !!.. I DIDNT NEED THAT !!... So I chose Istanbul and I never regret that !

Is getting robbed or mugged there a high probability when disabled? It looks really scary the location for Giotikas. Do people have sympathy for disabled people there?

Giotikas prices are really attractive, only downside is the risky environment. Can't imagine being crippled and dealing with muggers.

I didnt think about being robbed on the street in wheelchair... but who knows !
Your priority is to have a good comfort after surgery, TO HAVE ALL YOU NEED IN SAME BUILDING WHERE YOU SLEEP and to have people around to help you in any situation ... otherwise you will hate your life.
So, Athens is the worse place in this aspect.

Regarding the price, yes, its ok for Europe... but read around about his LL performance, so you will find that he is not brilliant at all, especially when you get complications !

You're welcome !
