Quote from: FutureLengthener on April 15, 2015, 04:17:33 AMAlso, heres an old picture of a biker I found. Too lazy to save it and then attach it, just view it here

http://www.slowtwitch.com/Bike_Fit/Geometry_and_Handling/Bikes_for_the_torso-impaired_220.html

Not offending anyone, but the shown pic (upload was refused - sorry) is a classical Photoshop disaster. Mark the red areas as duplicated zones / misalignments in the copy-paste work. The yellow lines are marking cutting zones. The blue bar indicates the part of the picture where the background is far more blurry than in other parts. So, it's a fake picture. Perhaps to underline the story in the linked article, but still not real.

I myself have a quite extreme inseam-bodyheight ratio of almost 50% (making me a terrible LL candidate), but a ratio over 50% is very rare.

I think the guy in Uppland's picture looks ok. With pants on, nobody would even notice his weird proportions in the real world. Especially because he has a well toned physique. I think I'd be happy if I came out with those kinds of proportions after LL, although I think that's worst case scenario (strictly proportionally speaking, as there are lots of other non proportion related things that could go wrong of course).

I don't think the guy I posted in the OP looks good at all, I wouldn't do LL if I ended up looking like that.

@Rick, too bad about your already long legs, are you still considering lengthening them?

My own inseam will be about 48% after I've done 7-8CM and that would be as far as I would go honestly. Can I persuade you to post a few pictures of how you look?

@Uppland - Still considering, but not more than that ;-) I'm (more or less) in the same situation als the LittleWhiteMan in the other topic (Everyone who is short seems to have longer sitting heights, except for me) and will answer there more in detail as soon as I have time. My situation is ofcourse not so 'rare' as (fake) 'rarity guy' in the link, but still the reason I'm quite focussed on proportions, esp. the inseam/bodyheight ratio.

Hey buddy, don't forget about the one thing more important than inseam/height, which is ape index. If you have a good ape index, you won't look as bad with a short torso. Short torso and bad ape index is a disaster unfortunately

If I decide to do CLL, I will have very little wiggle room because my ape index is 1.01, and my inseam/height is 48%. Maybe you are fortunate to have a better ape index

Is it? To me arm length/wingspan is mostly related to torso, not to body height. But feel free to disagree ;-))

I've seen tall people with short torsos and long ass arms, but very rarely (and I'm quite observant), have I seen a tall guy with short arms

But as you said, we are all free to disagree friend : )

Definitely looks strange, but with pants on he looks much better. I'd like to see a guy like michael phelps stand next to him, though Phelps is taller
Proportional rarity

I tried to shorten his arms in photoshop to see what he would look like

Proportional rarityProportional rarity
That was him with shorter forearms. What does he look like with shorter humerus?

Proportional rarityProportional rarity
He still looks bad with short arms but better because he has a better forearm ratio.

(proportionally)Long forearms look good, (proportionally)long humerus look feminine. Just like Tibias and femurs, IMO.
