Ktemon - are you for real?? - do you really think this guy will do it? - then you state it should not concern me - according to who - if I am attempting to stop these nonsense theads so that people get some informed advice about LL etc - that is what this site is for & there used to be good entries, diaries etc - just read them & all the info, pros & cons are there
Recently we have had to read of a man who got shot, was in a coma for 3 months & somehow grew 6 inches!! & now a man who says he will break his arm for 1.4cm - jeezzzz 🤦♂️🙈🤣🥊
Then you have pathetic trolls calling people names - in support of this crap 🤷
what surgeon does this?
Forearm lengthening is very common and is done since decades all over the world. It is just it is rare that the forarem have size differencies. Mostly only humerus (Upper arm) is afffected. Humerus can be lenghtened easily with internal nails like precice etc.
BUT FOREARM must be lenghtended still with a External Fixator because you cannot put an internal nail inside the forearm, this is why the forearm is still only lengthable with external fixators.
1.4 CM is a noticable difference. Do the surgery if you suffer from it mentally or bodily. On the other hand you are lucky, that it is only 1.4 cm so the surgery length is without big risks.
Hey, thanks for the info! I’m not jumping in right now, but I do hope to get my forearms lengthened down the line. Any chance you’ve seen real patient pics or X‑rays? Appreciate the details!
as far as I am aware dr. salameh is a real respected doctor but it is a red flag that he does this considering almost all other doctors won't do it cosmetically.
Maybe his device is just the only one that can perform it properly? I wonder how the scars are, becuase I feel like forearm is the worst place to have LL scars. I wish there were some examples on here of this being performed.
I think the forearm is more important to to the visual perception of arm length than the humerus so this would be big if it worked properly. Also, the differences in ulna length between heights is not all that huge. Its about 2 inches between 165 and 180cm, so given the natural variations I think 1 inch of lengthening should be good enough in most cases which also seems to line up generally with the safe limits of bones as a percent of their total length
