Hey Gman, will you go with Parihar? Assuming one wears mask/gloves/face mask, avoids certain foods, and gets stomach virus immunization beforehand to avoid illnesses, it seems like a good way to save 12k$ or 24k$ and live in a hotel.

I'm considering it, the dirtiness doesn't sound so bad if I can bring an occulus quest 2 and escape into virtual reality in a hotel

Wow!!!! Thanks for the really thorough post

What are the main differences in the popular apps for taxis/uber in Mumbai? And the popular apps in Mumbai for groceries compared to America or other places?

for taxi: Uber, Ola
for grocery and any pick up drop: dunzo, swiggy
for grocery: big basket, amazon fresh
for food: swiggy, zomato, cure fit (for protein rich healty food - it's mainly for people who are into body building)
for all other stuff like toilet seat stand, nerve simulation devices, and any other thing you need during lengthening - amazon

I am also confused between giotikas, dr lee, and Parihar. I personally think dr lee is the most capable but Parihar is the cheapest.

Lol yes I am considering Dr Parihar as first option since his an Indian surgeon, and I am Indian too, and my dreams to become the best Chef I can be and learning Indian cuisine is important too so I’ll go get the surgery done in India as a holiday and explore India too. Dr Parihar is a great Surgeon as we all know, being able to speak in Hindi/ Indian native language is an extra boost for me so I’m thinking of him as an option first.

What about you ??

Thanks!!!!!!

1."nerve simulation devices"
What are examples of this that LL patients use and what is their benefit?

2. I think if you are familiar with Mumbai, then going with Parihar has some huge benefits/is logistically much easier and also much cheaper? And won't have to worry about getting diseases as much as some western people who are not used to Mumbai

I haven't been to India but I was born in a third-world country with low hygiene standards as well, and I have travelled/eaten in many non-hygienic places.
It is a gamble, you could either live 1 year and never get sick, or get there 1 day and get sick. The best thing that could happen would be to get sick when you first arrive, so your body gets used to it.
Additionally, if you come from a first world country, just acknowledge that things are very different in India and their immune systems are stronger as well.
For example, if you eat veggies, you should ask people to wash them with bottled water or you might get sick (or never eat veggies).
Some bacteria could be everywhere and could be found even in a "clean" restaurant.
Your body might not be used to the spices, or how they prepare food.
The food quality might not be that good....

There are many factors. If I was going to do LL in India, I would be there 1-2 weeks before just to get used to the place and see how things work, for I would do the same if I go back to my country. This is not needed of course, but you will be having a life changing surgery and I would try to make my life easier during my stay.

I may go with Parihar esp if the Euro continues to get stronger relative to the dollar after I get a covid vaccination + other vaccinations maybe

Tell us how it goes w/ Parihar in a diary someday What are the pros and cons of Parihar vs Giotikas for Americans?

Are you thinking of going w/ Parihar? That 12k$+ saved money looks very tempting to me esp b/c I want to do both internal femurs and tibias so it would double + savings from cheaper cost of living + people at hotel to help you
