The whole thing is absolute torture for months and months and months.

Not just pain (which sucks, especially post surgery OMG!!) it's also being incredibly uncomfortable and not ever being able to sleep well (think Chinese water torture).

But it does work.

Think hard on if you really want to do this.

If you are close to average height I would seriously question the viability.

If I had my time again would I do it knowing what I know now?..... I don't know... I really don't know. Probably not.

But. After time the horrible experience will become a just another memory  I suppose..

How much did you lengthen?

Quote from: ReadRothbard on January 19, 2022, 06:21:57 PMWould you advise sleeping pills to knock yourself out?

All sleeping pills will reduce the quality of sleep, and make it less restorative. But of course if the alternative is you are only getting a couple of  ty hours go with the pill. If you can get a healthy amount of sleep without a pill would be ideal.

Yeah I'd advise sleeping pills as long as the Doc gives the ok. I had no got some heavy meds after about 5 weeks (of complaining) definitely helped a lot.

Yeah I did externals / tibia 5.5ish cm (precice wasn't available outside US at the time and I just wanted to get it done).

Did you do internals Siegfried or are you just making an assumption (not having a crack just wanting clarity)? Externals are worse but I wouldn't assume internals are a walk in the park.

Everyone (including pre lengthening me) always cherry picks information and comes to the conclusion that it isn't that bad.

I'm just above 5'0 so not doing this is really not an option lol

Yeah, I can understand that. If I was anywhere near 5'0, I'd be lengthening basically as much as is allowed by my doc.

Yes, i actually did precice 2 in my tibia and femurs and it wasnt bad at all. At least nothing like you described. the first 2-3 weeks were painful, and afterwards I was pretty much fine. I stopped taking all my pain meds after 4 weeks and got back to my normal sleeping schedule. After 5-6 weeks I didnt have any pain anymore. The only annoying thing is the immobility of not walking. So internals are pretty cool.
Ive never heard anybody describe it as bad as you did to be honest, even if you did externals.

That's what i'm most worried about, being so immobile . How did you deal with that? I'm doing the precice 2.2 also so I won't be walking for like 6 months from what i'm reading

There was a guy in Beijing who quit after less than a month.  I think he got one cm.  He pounded on the walls and moaned and groaned all the time.

There's a wide range of responses.
