Very curious to know what would you say the cut of is with this surgery in terms of height in order to function daily and lift weight. Could I possibly get 6 inches taller and return to activity 80-90% of old abilities or would I lose a lot more?

as for what is "too much", in your specific case I think its unnecessary, but thats subjective

if your concerned about function then go to a responsible good doctor, such as assayag or paley and probably more I am not aware of, and listen to your body and their advice on when you should stop. Nobody can tell you what will happen at any specific number for sure.

can you get 6 inches and retain full function? probably not, can you retain 90%, I think theres a decent chance but it depends on the individual, their dedication to PT and their actual bodies capabilities.

I dont understand why you cant do 3 inches, get 6'1 and then call it a day. 6 inches requires 3x the surgery unless your very lucky. 6'1-6'4 the benefit is not worth two tibia surgeries, 2 years of disability and 150k or whatever it would be.

maybe it is in your mind, but I would advise you reconsider it.
