Congratulations! I'm happy that everything worked out good

How is the pain during consolidation phase?
Looking back at the whole period of lengthening, what part was the most painful in your opinion?

Thanks man. I feel no pain from my legs at all right now. No numbness either. I've stopped gaba two weeks ago.

I would say the first two weeks after surgery and the 20 days from 3 to 5 cm were the two periods of most pain but still not too bad. Oxy helps with the first period which is surgical pain. Then the second period was my nerve pain was the most intense. Then they gave me gaba and it died down.

Thanks!

Day 115:

I took the first post-op X-ray today. My left leg is healing well while my right femur didn’t show too much healing but still better than what it was when discharged. I probably need to give it some time. One patient I know had her femur healed (under 6cm lengthened) in a month which was very rare. For most people it takes 3 months before walking, especially if you did the full 8 cm. I will just wait patiently.

Some xrays: https://imgur.com/a/nPJ5WRM

My right leg is lagging behind. My left leg probably can heal next month. At this speed I will start walking in late May, which is sad but I've been pretty busy with working and everything so time flies. Also Paley xray team takes really good xray. These two taken at my local hospital don't have a holisitic view and makes it difficult to see the whole picture.

Thanks! I don't have much to update though. You can take no news as good news. My Xray on 3/24 was sent to Robbins, and he said nice healing but no change in activity level, so I am still living the same life. Other than occasional, mild nerve pain (10 seconds every two days or so), can't walk, and having to take xarelto, my life has been very normal, as if the surgery never happened. I have one of those office chairs with wheels at home so I don't use wheelchair anymore unless I am going to somewhere like CVS or my dentist, but I try to minimize these travels. When I do go, I also try not to use wheelchair and just use walker and take Uber. For example, when I went to the dentist last week, it was about 30 meters to the elevator, then about 30 meters to the door where I waited for my Uber, and then about 20 meters to the dentist as the Uber drops me off right at the door. Plus, in the middle, I get to sit down and rest a little. It is the same for most other things I do.

I expect I would be able to walk in mid-late May, but honestly not missing out too much in life. I have friends visiting quite often. I am pretty straightforward with friends on this matter, and they have been very supportive. I would recommend future LLers to do the same if possible. It really helps with your mental state when you have people to talk to about this. If they don't support you, they are not good friends anyways.

I will post more updates when I take my second Xray probably on Apr.27th. Hopefully I would be able to use crutches by then.
