I know what you mean. I'm afraid of being lonely, bored & isolated in a foreign country as well but the time served will be worth the result. I think the psychological adaption will be more difficult than the pain but worrying is just betting against yourself so I'm going to cross the line & take my chances rather than gaze at it for the rest of my life thinking, "what if?" Whatever happens, it will be an experience...

Good luck starting in October. I hope that you will start a diary and keep us updated.
Will you be going for 7 cm on tibias?
Will you be staying in Germany for the full duration of lengthening only or consolidation as well?
As someone who is not in 20's myself, I would be interested in finding out your recovery/healing

thx Ortholengthening, I will keep a diary.

Dr Schmidt has an annexe at his house & he says I can hire that. I want to get back to the UK before Xmas. That gives me two to three months, in Germany. When will I leave exactly, not sure just yet? I plan to do 6cms. I have given in my notice to quit at work, applied for my occupational pension & increased my leg strengthening & stretching workouts.

If all goes well I will return to work in a different job, on a part time basis after about six months.

Healing? Well, I've has 3 orthopaedic ops in the last 11 years - you unremember the pain & distress...

I will keep you posted.

I hope your plans work out well (& mine)

You should focus more and stretching than streangthening the shins... Strong muscles will put more resistance which in turn can cause more pain and increase the risk of misallignment (A few LL docs said this).
What you should do is jogging or long walks in order to increase blood flow to your legs (Which will cause an increase in blood vessels).
 Good luck mate

@ Cloudo, wrong link. I made a mistake, but my original post had also been moved to a different thread.
The forum Medium talks about is not old forum (make me taller). It's a third forum. This forum never had agreements with doctors. No problem at all with it.
I have never met a patient of Elbatrawy. I pointed at this because I found this in the internet. I only recommend strongly against Monegal and Betz because I have seen their bad results in person, and have met doctors and they don't seem reliable at all. They only want to sell their surgeries and tell you everything is perfect but it isn't.

Yeah man, when are you going to do LL? 2 years in the forum is a long time.

Maybe you can share your experience and the doctor you do it with so we can see a honest diary with a good doctor.

2 years? You don't know what you are talking about. Only 3 months active here (banned for 4 months).
If I could, I would go to Paley.
