Trust me, I aired my concerns about this crazy surgery with an orthopaedic faculty over lunch. He has no reason to lie to me. If you are an athlete, just don't do it.
Ask any nurse or doctor who is not in the orthopaedic Limb Lengthening business what they think. Chances are, they will tell you its crazy to do this for cosmetic purposes.

Yeah but they did study years of medical school or nursing school, followed by general surgical training and residency. They should have a better picture than a layman, though of course not the best picture.

That's true, but their knowledge would pale in comparison to that of Dr. Paley and such.

Problem is that such doctors who do LL full-time have a conflict of interest. That's not to say they are liars. They have a conflict of interest, money vs ethics & safety.
