Inseam masurements

Do u guys think a 90 cm inseam at 181 cm height is too much....and that too including 178cm wingspan.

Well, as this post has been talked about before, I have given an example to the related users. I'll also give that example to you.

This guy is 188cm and has an inseam of 84cm.

So yeah, 90 cm will be too much.

Also, how the hell is your inseam too much? If I get lengthened +12 cms, I wouldn't even hit 90cm inseam.

90/181 = 0.497
It's in the longleg range but OK.

Average inseam to height ratio, men:

- above 180cm = 0.48 to 0.50
- between 170cm and 180cm  = 0.46 to 0.48
- below 170cm = 0.44 to 0.46

Men on average have a ratio of 0.478

Lol? So that model with 81 inseam has a ratio of 0.43085106383

the other one has 0.45

the other one has 0.44
 They all are disproportionate then!

They aren't, but it's more common for taller people to have higher inseam/height-ratio than shorter ones.

Also limbs and torso grow alternately and not at the same time. Depending on when/in which phase growth stops people are short or long-legged.

There is a military-study that shows that men in WW2 (~173cm) had the same torso size than men today in the army but 7cm shorter legs.


AND don't forget in the fashion industry pants length is often used as inseam length which isn't the same we are using for inseam/height-ratio!!!

The model measurements are PANTS INSEAM! It’s way different! It’s a lower number.
The TRUE inseam is measured from pelvis (behind the balls, pushing a book quite hard) to the floor.
The normal range is from 0,42 to 0,50. What “short” told is right, taller people generally has longer limbs and so and higher inseam/height ratio.
Every model I’ve seen has quite long limbs, according to the beauty standards of the fashion world.
True inseam is a measurement often used by the bikers, it’s needed to calculate the right bike that fit you.

Don't consider me as stupid but I've always thought when the scientific papers about body ratios mentioned "inseam length", I've always considered it as the "pant inseam length".

I think they always talk about true inseam because it’s definitely more precise. Anyway you can just check if the ratio looks reasonable or not. If you check in bikes forums you can find many topics about inseam with hundreds of measurement of the true inseam.
0,43 is a low number, as common as a 0,50 ratio. I don’t think there are many models so short legged lol

The thing I don't get is, what measurement do they exactly use in leg to body ratio? It should not be the true inseam, because you would be missing the upper part of your legs such as your butt.
