Yesterday I made my first post about not wanting to go over 6.5cm increase on my femurs because I wanted to stay safe and was fine as long as I hit the 5’9 mark. I thought I was 169.5cm and today at the doctors office, I was told I was 167.4. I’m not sure how accurate those measurements are but using my device at home, I measure at 169. Not sure how I feel because I don’t know if this surgery is worth doing if I don’t hit 175.3cm yet i’m sure I don’t want to go over 6.5cm. Not sure what to do or how to feel. Anyone ever been in this position have any advice/words for me?
Kinda heartbroken. This changes things.
6cms taller is still 6cms taller. What kind of way of thinking os this lol... You really believe 170+ guys have it the same as a 167 guy?
No i don’t think so. As a matter of fact, I don’t even have it hard at all. I’ve always just thought 5’9 was my dream height and will now have to rethink things if i can’t reach it safely. How accurate are those measurement things because every-time i’ve used a tape rule on the wall, it’s been 169.5 but whenever I use a stadiometer at the gym, it fluctuates, i’ve even had as low as 165 before.
Unfortunately, this is what you get when you're obsessed with numbers.
No matter if you are 165, 167 or 169, 6cm will undoubtedly change you. Don't be obsessed with numbers.
Okay. Thank you. I’ll look ahead.
Sorry to belabor the point here but you are you and 6.5 cm on an x-ray is 6.5 cm added to your height, whatever it is. Nobody will see what's on your driver's license. And people lie about that anyway.
thanks!
think i’m just going through the motions as a newbie.
False alarm, the doctor just told me that their device is off by about 2cm but this is a really good lesson for me not to care about numbers honestly. Thank you guys for setting me straight.

Good thing to hear. My case was the total opposite. I visited this endocrinologist in my teen years due to my GH deficiency and he always said I was making great progress but in reality I was 5cm shorter than what he reported. He actually did that to people like me to not lose customers.
Pretty sad
