Best calcium supplement would be high dosed calcium tablet on its own but start around 10 days after the surgery just incase you induse premature consolidation.  No other ingredients in it at all.

It would be wise to get a multi vitamin and cod liver tablets and some whey protein shakes for the first 6 weeks or so as you will feel like not eating.

Best advice is to take the smallest  amount of painkillers as possible.  They destroy your appetite to the point you dont need to eat and you get lazy and start not to exercise enough.  The painkillers will only give you around a few hours of painfree time so bare that in mind.  Exercise is the best painkiller there is for this surgery.

Is taking a Testosterone booster after the device / rod is removed?  It does make your bones quite stronger would it help consolidation maybe?
