Quote from: IwannaBeTaller on February 05, 2018, 09:25:12 AMI still don't understand how shorter guys are supposed to look less wide and broad - compared to their entire body - than taller guys. Like, a shorter guy is supposed to have more narrow shoulders in comparison to his body length than a taller guy, or what? That doesn't make any sense to me.

Yes, shorter guys typically have much smaller shoulders and chests, which looks really bad IMO. I think it's the reason most women aren't attracted to short men, rather than just not being attracted to arbitrary length of bones in their legs. Tall men on average have much wider shoulders and chests in proportion to the rest of their body, it's a very masculine and high-class look. Even tall, skinny guys a lot of people say are "ectomorphs" still have broader shoulders than short guys who weigh 180lbs and take steroids.

Ignore the writing on this photo, I would say that this is the average difference in body build between a 6'1 guy and a 5'7 guy. Of course you have "ectomorphs" and "mesomorphs" but these things are often overstated, on average as height increases clavicle length and chest width increase as well, which are very important markers for sexual attraction and dimorphism.

Is there any scientific evidence to back this up?

Dude have you ever been outside? Yes there is plenty of scientific evidence but it is beyond obvious just with plain eyes as well. I can't believe you would be considering this surgery without ever even noticing proportions like this before or paying them any attention.

Shoulder to waist ratio study:

http://www.unm.edu/~abryan/articles/femalehipratio.pdf

I thought this was common knowledge. WTF??? I would say it's very, very ease to gauge someone's height based on photos of their chest and distance between arms alone. Maybe 10% of the time I'll be wrong, but for 90% of people it is as simple as this.

Also, I think since Jeff Nippard is built and looks rather stumpy, he would actually look pretty good after LL. Here he is with roughly 4 inches added:

Here is what he would look like if he never worked out:

And here he is in reality, just for comparison:

Do correct me if I'm wrong, but I didn't find any reference to height in that study. It focussed on the sexual desirability of men in reference to (among other factors) waist-shoulder ratio. I was asking for a source that taller men have, on average, wider bodies compared to their overall body proportions, or a larger frame if you want. Thanks for the response anyway.

I'm glad you pointed out they're all on steroids. Most people will never get that thick from just working out.

Short guys who escaped the "short guy" look by working out
Many short men have broad shoulders whuch look even broader because they have a short height.
I have broader shoulders than the most men I know and my natural height is 1.68. Although I have a relatively short torso I wear L and XL sizes and they are not long at all because my shoulders and my back are very big.
I have friends of 1.80 height who wear S although they workout a little.

So I truly believe that there are many short guys with natural buff bodies which look even stockier due to short height.
My 47-8cm arms will look big on an 1.90 man but for me (1.75) they really look huge.
So the taller you are the more muscular you have to be to not look skinny.
Most tall men don't have good bodies and can't do kuch about it.
Average height guys have usually the best bodies but even many short guys can have good bodies by working out while tall men don't most of the times, unless they takes steroids and have more than 100-110 kg weigbt which is impossible for the ectomorphs and will lead to health problems to the other ones.
