That's questionable. For some people it cures their height dysphoria. Studies have shown that taller people are more likely to get hired, paid more, and receive promotions. Money isn't being wasted, because you are getting something out of it. Athleticism sacrificed is also questionable since we don't know the exact amount in reduction. 3 inches is a massive noticeable difference, and can have a huge impact in someone's life, if someone wasn't athletic to begin with, then it shouldn't matter. A lot of people who have had the surgery done say that they would do it again. I have rarely seen people comment the opposite.

If you gain height from LSJL, that would cure your height dysphoria as well.

People get 2 inches from LL more often than 3. Since you consider 3 inches 'a massive difference', 1 inch is 33 percent of that.
