Hey HeightJourney2021,

Thanks for posting informative videos and documenting your CLL journey. Your contribution to the community has been extremely valuable!

I just wanted to understand your take on weight bearing with precise 2.2 nails -

Do you think shedding max. weight before CLL Femurs will help?

How many days after op did you start using the walker to move around?

Do you think weight bearing helps in faster recovery (again, for precise 2.2 femurs)? shall we try to max. walker time during lengthening? OR wait till consolidation phase..

Transfer from bed to toilet/ shower is more comfortable using walker OR with wheelchair and transfer board?

Yes. The maximum weight limit for the Precice 2 nails is 50 pounds for the medium and 70-75 pounds for the large, which is quite low.

How many days after op did you start using the walker to move around?

I learned how to use the walker 2 days post op, and started using it regularly 3 days post op. It's only for short distances, inside my room. For longer distances, wheelchair is necessary. Also, some Precice patients take longer to learn how to use a walker, even over a week after post op.

You'll be doing wheelchair/walker during lengthening and early consolidation. Just keep up with your PT exercises, eat well, and take your supplements to consolidate sooner.

Transfer from bed to toilet/ shower is more comfortable using walker OR with wheelchair and transfer board?

It depends on the patient. Most Precice patients I know use the walker because it is more maneuverable inside the bathroom. But some patients, especially female patients, prefer the wheelchair. About the transfer board, I don't know of any wheelchair patients who use it for the bathroom. I've only seen small female patients use it to transfer from car to wheelchair (or vice versa), but no male patients use it.
