Hey guys, so I want to be 5"10 (178cm) I'm currently 168cm.. My measurements are below. Tell me what you think of proportions and whether you think I could pull 5"10 off.

Height 168cm
Arm length 76cm
Inseam 77cm
Wingspan 169.5
Sitting height 90cm

Wing span is a tad shorter due to smaller hands. If I had bigger hands I would gain an extra couple of cms on my total wing span and arm length. People have always told me that my legs look shorter and stumpy compared to my body length. I hit the gym a lot and have fairly broad shoulders.

I look at people that are 5"9 (e.g my Dad) and they don't look that much taller than me. They are definitely taller but I feel that 5"10 is where people start to have a really solid height about them.

Give me your input on what you think would be achievable for me without looking too silly. One part of me says to just go for it, they other says to stick to 176cm due to the smaller wing span.

Is this one surgery on the femurs? If so, it's not really matter of whether you want 10 cm or not. At that length, it would be more about how much your body can handle. Once you go past 6 cm on femurs, you entering a risky area where your soft tissue gets very tight from being overstretched. Past 8 cm, and you risk losing your athleticism significantly. I would stick with 8 cm, as I don't think the final 2 cm is worth is the risk and loss in athleticism. Of course that changes if you find out that your body is still growing and can adapt to the changes. At that point, you'd have to find out from your doctor if you can keep going.

If you mean 2 surgeries, then 10 cm is probably more worth your time/money for putting yourself through so much. You probably will not risk much athleticism with 2 surgeries.

Proportion-wise, I think 8.5 cm difference between arm length and height is quite significant. It'll probably look like you're wearing high heels. But I don't think it's significant enough for people to think you look silly.

If I go for 178, it'll be 5.5cm fibs, 4.5 tibs.

It's really a matter of my hands being smaller than average.. If I had average sized hands I'd have a total wing span of at least 172cm (if I'm adding around an extra 1.25cm length on each hand).

I have broad shoulders and small hands too. I can relate.

Just pick a length that makes you feel comfortable and not notice that your hands are shorter etc.

So I went and put on some shoe lifts in my sneakers. And it has a combined height difference of about 6 cm. This makes my wingspan vs my height around 8.5 cm difference. I looked in a full body mirror, and it did look obvious that my legs were longer than the rest of my body proportion-wise. If I pulled my pants all the way up so that the crotch (inseam) area reached my crotch, then it looked silly. It looked like I was wearing high heels or on stilts. However, when I lowered my pants about 2-3 inches, my body looked proportional again. My arms still looked short in comparison, but it was less obvious.

Once I took off my sneakers, I looked proportional and normal with my only 1 or so inch difference in wingspan vs height. You can't tell that I had LL. But with a 8.5 cm difference, it becomes a little bit more obvious that something is off. Not so much that you'd call someone out on it. But enough to be slightly noticeable. You can try to fix it a bit by lowering your pants.

Your wingspan is 170cm. You're currently (after LL) 175cm.. Adding 6cm would make you 181cm. That is an 11cm discrepancy. It wouldn't depict my proportions.

.. But I appreciate the effort all the same Want to be 5"10

Weird how my arms are 1 cm shorter than yours and yet my wingspan is 7 cm longer. My shoulders are narrow as well, idk.

It'd be around 11 cm difference for you too if you wore sneakers. So it's the roughly the same proportions unless you wear shoes with thin soles.

Touché. It had crossed my mind that if I lengthened 10cm that I would have to wear very flat shoes to avoid extra discrepancy in proportions.

I doubt that I will go to this extreme.. but with humerus lengthening, l was wondering what recovery times were like, as well as safe lengthening anounts? If any of you happen to know.

I noticed that myself actually.. I thought maybe you had a broad back and shorter arms.. I will double check.. Just to clarify, you measure from the boney bit that sticks out at the top of your shoulder right?
