Did you finally remove the frames?

Very frustrating day. Got my xrays and very, very little progress in 2 months. Could be the NSAIDS, could be my crap PT.

Doctor has now said, out of nowhere, that the frames cannot come off until I am walking unaided fully and able to sit>stand without aid. Very strange because this is the first time I've heard about it. So, now I need to start crushing my PT or I will never be out of the frames.

Very weird. In my eyes your legs look almost fully consolidated...Maybe you know another doctor who you can show the X-rays to for a second opinion? Via DICOM files or CD ROM ? As you said...what your doctor said is unusual. But maybe he thinks that you will progress to that level soon anyways and until than your bones might be 100%. In my case I couldn't wait until then. Pretty sure that without the frames, the recovery will be a lot faster.

You're probably right, it may be good for a second opinion, but I have seen massive strides in my abilities, maybe I am closer to walking/standing than I thought. I'm going to try and see how this month goes, really get into PT and see what happens. I just want to wear normal pants again. My doctor has said that if I can't walk/stand there is a possibility that the bones will compress on themselves and I'll lose height, so unless I'm able to walk fully they won't remove it. And you're definitely right, having these damn pins in my legs have to be halting my recovery.

2 week update or whatever it is.

Walking very good lengths of time unaided, I'll say for 3 minute intervals I'll walk unaided without crutches. But my form is not so great, I spoke to a very interesting blind russian physiotherapist, and he's basically given me this video to help me recover

He's told me walking is not the be all and end all, these exercises are much more important, so I'm focusing on that more than before, which every post-LL patient says anyway.

One last thing, still getting some swelling after walking a lot. I really do hope it's just because of the pins. Damn I want these things off. 2018 - External Tibias - Dr. Bagirov, Baku, Azerbaijan / Moscow, Russia
